Bath And Body Works: Hippie Hand Sanitizers

***MINI REVIEW***

You might be thinking: Why is the Hong Kong Girl reviewing Hand Sanitizers? Truth is, these aren't your ordinary hand sanitizers that smell like toxic alcohol, instead, they are a cute fruity trio of mini bottles of Bath and Body Works hand sanitizers! Why call them "hippie"? because they have a hippie design -.- You'll see what I mean.

Price:
Bath and Body Works Hand Sanitizers are iconic and fun things that every girl at school carries around in her purse (almost every girl). They are available in USA for USD $1.50 per 29 mL of hand sanitizer. But for those of you Hong Kong Beauties who are interested, you can purchase these at Dudes (check out their facebook page for details).

Price Rating (according to U.S price): 5/5

Packaging:
They are so cute and colorful, with a cool sticker in front telling you what is the scen and what it is. The good thing about these bottles is that they are refillable so you can always add in any other brand of hand sanitizer you want. If you buy a case with these, that's awesome, cause you save up on some money and help the environment.

Packaging Rating: 5/5

Product:
They all do the same functions, except for look and smell. As you can see, Happy is yellow, Peace is blue, and Love is red.
Original Smell: happy - citrus twist, Peace - mixed berry, love - passion fruit
I love the smell of Peace and Love, but Happy smells like lemon dish washing detergent •_•'' But peace and love smell more like candy than berries or passion fruit. Maybe it's just me?
Another concern with these is that the glitter in the hand sanitizers don't dissolve. So when I put this on my hands, the glitter dries on my skin so now my hands are glittery -____-'' But overall in quality, they are like your average hand sanitizing gel, but better in smell and color :)

Product Rating: 3.5/5

Final Thoughts:
As I mentioned before, they are a big improvement on your average and boring hand sanitizers. Would I repurchase this? Yes and already did. Would I recommend it to a friend? Yes and already did. :D

Pros: Packaging, Price, Cheap, Amount, Smell, Function
Cons: Glitter dries on your hands

Overall Rating: 4/5 :)

Stay tuned for more reviews!

Boots: Lavender Hand Cream

Last Post of the day! Then I'm off to sleep -_- Boots Lavender Hand Cream ~ another quick review for tonight :)

So this is how it originally looks like:

Price:
This was actually my mom's, but I use it now that she isn't using it, so I don't know the price of this :( I'm guessing that it is not expensive and actually reasonable (since it's Boots) for 45 mL of hand cream.

Price Rating: N/A

Packaging:

As you can see, it looks very vintage with the pale pink and the Rosewood font, which makes it feel somewhat homey and comforting. LOVE IT. The tube isn't aluminium or the metal one, which makes it a whole lot easier to squeeze out the hand cream and inflate it when it's all wrinkly. So that's a big plus.

Packaging rating: 5/5

Product:
I love this hand cream. You don't even know. The cream has a texture that feels just like real cream, or butter. This passes as a top quality body butter. The scent of the lavender is not over powering, so it's perfect for work and school. It spreads on my hands really nicely, it doesn't take too many drops of this product to make my hands smooth. I was expecting my hands to look greasy afterwards, but instead they look matte, which is just perfect for me. But I don't think this would be suitable for people with severely chapped hands, as it isnt' heavy duty hand cream, but you could always try.

Product Rating: 5/5

Final Thoughts:

This hand cream is just beyond perfect. No comment. Couldn't get any better! Well done, Boots! :D ^^

Pros: EVERYTHING
Cons: NOTHING

Overall Rating: 5/5

Ok, that's it for me! Off to sleep. 10 minutes past 1 and I garuntee I'll do more reviews tomorrow! see ya guys!

Tony Moly: Fruit Princesses Gloss

I'm a huge fan of Korean Products ^^ so guess what I'll be reviewing today ~ the TONY MOLY FRUIT PRINCESSES LIP GLOSS :D I got these a few months back so you can count on me for a trustworthy review :)

Firstly, there are 7 variations of this edition of lip gloss. My mother bought me all seven, but I gifted four of them away, leaving me with three of them. Each gloss has a different flavor, smell and tint.

I have the plum, mangosteen and the cherry princess :) so that's who you will meet today!

Price:
My mom bought the set in Korea, but on avererage the cose somewhere between HKD $30 - 40. However, if you purchase these in Hong Kong at your local Sasa store, they cost up to 70 something dollars, close to HKD $80. And they only give you so little product. Including the lid, these princesses only stand at a diminutive stature of 5 cm tall. Without the lid, 3 cm tall. I'm assuming that you are not going to fly all the way to Korea to buy a set of these, so 80 bucks for 3 cm tall of product is SUPER EXPENSIVE. The product itself is excellent quality, but I'm 50/50 with this one.

Price rating: 2.5/5

Packaging:

ADORABLE. NUFF SAID. The packaging for this flies off the charts - literally. I am at a loss of words O_O *dies* HOWEVER - keep in mind that Tony Moly gives you so little of the product because it just a glossy tint for your lips. It's not meant for everyday use.

(my apologies for the bad lighting, but plum is actually glittery)

packaging rating: 5/5

Product:

In order: Cherry Princess, Mangosteen Princess, Plum Princess

Product wise, they are the same in everyway except for the color. The tint of these is very subtle, so if you have pale lips you might want to layer it on about 2 to 3 times. I have very red lips, so just once works fine for me. It's all about personal preference. It glides on my lips smoothly, and besides making my lips more glossier and colorful, it also moisturizes my lips, which is rare in lip gloss. It lasts for about an hour and a half or 2 hours depending on how much you apply, but overall, I'm pretty pleased with the quality and color. seriously. What you see is what you get :D

Product rating: 4.5/5

Final Words:
This is not for everyday use, but I am skeptical with the fact that Tony Moly gives you so little product, but I manage to pace myself in not using a bunch at a time, so I save up on the product. If you are using this for everyday, this would be so little, but if it's only for special occasions  this is a lot and does not go to waste :) Would I repurchase this? YEP. Would I recommend it to a friend? Yep, and already did.

Pros: Packaging, Quality, Color
Cons: Amount, Lasting time

Cherry: Red tint
Mangosteen: Dark Pastel Pink tint
Plum: Clear with Sparkles, slightly pink tint

Overall Rating: 4/5

TIP: Layer it on top of Tony Moly's Petite Bunny Gloss Bar for a luxury glossy lipstick finish! *See what Tony Moly Petite Bunny Gloss Bar is about in my upcoming reviews*

Maybelline: Baby Lips - Menthol

Greetings to my fellow bloggers! I couldn't help but do a quick review on a recent purchase I made on Feb. 10. I was still in Cebu at the time, enjoying my family Chinese New Year trip when I spotted this gem at the mall "Shoemart"(correct me if I'm wrong). Recently, I haven't been able to find the menthol Baby Lips in all the Watsons and Mannings and Sasa stores that I have searched! So I made my lucky purchase in Cebu, aka: paradise.

For those of you who don't know, there are 6 original variations of Baby Lips. Over time, they had other limited editions of Baby Lips and other editions of it (Pink Glow, Baby Lips COLOR etc.) But I'll be reviewing one variation from the original collection. But in Hong Kong, there are only 4 original colors :(

But for now, I will just be reviewing the Menthol Baby Lips, the green and turquoise one at the far left.

Price:
I picked this up at about 89 Pesos, so that's a little less than HKD $20, which is perfectly reasonable for how much product you get and the quality

Price Rating: 5/5

Packaging:
One word. AMAZING. I absolutely love how Maybelline designed the packaging of Baby Lips - it's so hip and retro, with the Juicy Couture looking font and the splash of the fantastic color combinations. Not to mention the satisfying "click" sound when you close the lid. Well built and super chic!

Packaging rating: 5/5

Product:
Since this was the craze in 2011 and 2012, there was no doubt that I had high expectations from Baby Lips. To my astonishment, Baby Lips lived up to its expectations as a Super Star Lip Balm. It applies on my lip with a smooth and creamy sensation, leaving my lips begging for more. On the bright side, it also gives my lips a moist and shiny glaze. Though it claims to last for 8 hours, it only lasted for 2 for me. But maybe that is just personal preference.

As you can see, the stick looks baby pink. But really, the lip balm itself is clear (which was what I wanted). Also, it has a relaxing minty sensation and it smells like menthol or eucalyptus candies. Or really strong mint.

Product Rating: 5/5

Final Words:
This lip balm is THE LIP BALM. This broke my scale as a lip balm, congratulations,  Maybelline! Yes - I would definitely repurchase this and Yes - I would recommend it to a friend!

Pros: Packaging, Amount Of Product, Product itself, EVERYTHING
Cons: None

Overall Rating: 5/5

Ok. It's 10 minutes past midnight and this is seriously my last review of the day. I'll see you guys tomorrow with more interesting things!

Beauticology Cupcake Bathtub Set

Post #2 already? That was fast! So, after my tokidoki lip balm review, I decided to entertain myself by doing another review on Beauticology's Cupcake Bathtub Set (sorry I don't know the full name of this set).

So here is how it looks like:

As you can see, the set of products sits in a petite plastic and sparkly bathtub - which is the cutest thing ever! It consists of 1 beauticology strawberry cupcake lip butter (15 mL), 1 beauticology cherry cupcake body wash (50mL) and 1 beauticology vanilla cupcake body butter (30 mL).

Price:
I purchased this at Sasa (Hong Kong beauties should know!) at a reasonably price. It was originally HKD$100 but it was 50% off. So I took this home for HKD $50. For what they give you, I would say that this is definitely worth it :D

Price Rating: 4/5

Packaging:
Now for the packaging. It is pretty obvious that the packaging is very chic and minimalistic. Everything is awesome until I unscrew the lids.

See the silver lining around the product's opening? There was a tinfoil cover on it to protect it from germs or whatever, and removing it was a real pain. The silver cover for the lip butter came off well - but for the other two? NOPE. It stuck there creating an ugly lining around the openings. Also for the lip butter, how am I supposed to apply it on my lips? I have to drop a little globule of lip butter onto my finger then apply it -________________-

Packaging rating: 3/5

Product:
Now for the part that everyone's been waiting for!

1. The Lip Butter
This is probably the most disappointing item in the set. I don't even consider this to be a so called "lip butter". To me they should re-name this to lip grease. I was glad that it smells liked strawberries, but when I put this on,  it is as if I am wiping my lips with KFC chicken. It feels greasy for about 20 minutes, but after that, the moisturizing effects kick in.

Lip butter rating: 2/5

2. The Body Wash

This is one interesting product. You can't really see in this picture, but the liquid soap is actually sparkly. The texture of it is quite watery, but it foams up pretty well and smells extremely pleasant - a really treat for my nose! :D The glitter dissolves as you rub the soap in, and this product is definitely my favorite in the set.

Body Wash Rating: 5/5

3. The Body Butter

This body "butter" was way too watery to be even considered as a lotion, but despite that, Beauticology did a really nice job with the scent and the moisturizing effects of this. Though it is enough to quench my thirsty skin, it wasn't so effective on areas of my body with chapped skin. Not the best body butter I have purchased, but it was worth a shot. :)

Body Butter rating: 4/5

Final Words:
Boy am I glad I purchased this when it was 50% off! I had really high hopes for this set of products, and it's a real shame that the lip butter turned out to be cooking oil. The body wash and butter really made up for the loss. Would I repurchase this? I'll pass. Would I recommend this to a friend? Maybe...

Pros: Outer packaging design, body wash, body butter
Cons: Packaging inside the lid, lip butter was too oily

Overall Rating: 3.5/5 (rounded up: 4/5)

This is the last review of Feb 11! I'll be out the whole day tomorrow, but hopefully I will find time to do more :) stay tuned, Hong Kong beauties!

Tokidoki: Gelato Lip Balm Stain - Ciao Ciao

Yay! First review of the year of the water snake! As the title reads, I will be reviewing this "Ciao Ciao Tokidoki Gelato Lip Balm Stain". FYI, I've owned this product since the summer of 2012 but I rarely use this.

First off, I bought this at Sephora back in San Francisco when it was on sale, so I don't remember the original price. On Amazon, I saw it was worth USD $12.95, which is pricey. So for now, I can't judge if it is worth the price or not.

Price rating: N/A

Packaging:
As you can see from the below picture, the packaging of this product is just adorable! It has ciao ciao and her boyfriend who is proposing her (AWWW). Not to mention the fact that the lid conveniently snaps on so it doesn't make a mess in my bag or pencil case.

packaging rating: 5/5

Product:
This is obviously a colorless lip balm (no duh). Also, this is actually how much product they give you. Really not much. In comparison to its price online and the fact that it is from Tokidoki, one would be expecting that the lip balm would be good quality. But you are wrong.
Though the lip balm glides on my lips smoothly, I can pick up the sickly smell and odor of candle wax that makes my stomach churn. When I apply this onto my lips, I can feel a greasy sensation build up. I look in the mirror, and it looks as if I just drank a bowl of cooking oil. I'm a huge fan Tokidoki, but having to sacrifice my lips to look oily for the sake of the brand is a big turn off. Though it is moisturizing  this product is not long lasting. My lips do not get significantly quenched or softer after using this, which is a big disappointment. In fact, it makes my lips peel, which is the opposite of why I even purchased it.

product rating: 2/5

Final Words:
Overall, this was a dissappointment. I guess it is not worth the price on Amazon and the product itself does not live up to its expectations. Sorry Tokidoki, this was a bad buy. I'm not recommending this to you guys, but if you want to try it out, knock yourself out. Would I repurchase this? HECK NO.

Pros: Cute packaging, convenient lid, chic looking, tokidoki
Cons: Product is horrible in quality

Overall Rating: 2/5

So there's my first review of the year! Stay tuned for more ^^
